Born on May 23, 1925, Bettie Lou grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, where her life was shaped early by a deep love for her mother and father and a steady, enduring devotion to family.
Throughout her life, Bettie Lou was marked by a quiet kindness and a patient steadiness that brought comfort to those around her. She carried herself with a generous spirit—one that showed not in grand display, but in faithful presence, thoughtful care, and the simple ways she made others feel valued.
Bettie Lou faithfully worked for many years as a Machine Operator for Auto Mechanic parts in Pineville. Her work reflected the same reliability and dedication that defined so much of her life, and she approached her responsibilities with perseverance and care.
Bettie Lou was an only child, and family remained at the center of her heart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyette Hover Tucker, and by her son, Larry. She is survived by her daughter, Lynda (Mack), who lives in Matthews and her daughter-in-law Edith; two grandsons, Terry (DeeDee), Gary, Larry Jr., Michael (Rebekah), and great-grandchildren, Samantha and Jacob, Dillon and Adam, Carley and Raylie.
Bettie Lou loved the beach, and she cherished her church family at Church of the Nazarene in Charlotte—an important source of fellowship and faith through the years.
