

Jane was born on June 30, 1954 in Clarion County, Pennsylvania where she spent her early years. Her family moved to Falls Church, Virginia where she went to elementary and high school. She later graduated from James Madison University with a degree in social work. However, she worked in a number of different positions including assistant to the dean of a university, assistant to the mayor of a town in Texas, newspaper publishing and working in the administrative offices for Food City, a grocery store chain in Virginia. Throughout all her varied careers, she was known for hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others. More than anything, Jane was a devoted mother. She loved her son and sacrificed much to give him opportunities and blessings.
Jane enjoyed being with people, line dancing, baking, and singing in her church choir. She also had a remarkable compassion for stray and abandoned animals that she adopted and cared for.
Jane is survived by her son, Michael Ross Fleenor, and brothers. Larry Bish and William R. Bish, Jr., sisters Gloria Weinstein and Rosalind McCauley, brothers-in-law Alex Weinstein and John McCauley and sisters-in-law Regina Bish and Jeanne Bish.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William Ross and Hazel Marie Bish.
Her memory will be cherished by each family member and all who knew her as a friend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her honor.
