Betty Wise Hallman of Charlotte, N.C. passed away on January 9, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 13, 2018 with visitation at 10 am and service following at 11 am. Visitation and service will be held at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church with Reverend Bob Breed officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery West.
Betty was born May 8, 1934 in Lincoln County, N.C. to the late Ray and Sammie Wise. Betty was a very active member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church where she served the Lord in numerous ways. She served as both Deacon and Elder in the Church and as a youth Sunday School teacher. She also served as an officer of the Presbyterian Women of the Church and received a Lifetime Honorary membership to the Presbyterian Women of the Church. She was a member of the United Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Betty worked in the home to raise her two children and later had a successful career of more than 30 years in Real Estate, primarily with Century 21 – Murphy and Rudolph.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, the late Bobby D. Hallman and a brother, Ted Wise of Charlotte. Surviving are her son, Chris Hallman and wife Karen of Charlotte and daughter Kim Price and husband Craig of Denver, N.C. Betty is also survived by and blessed with four grand-children, Devin Chandler of Clemmons, N.C, Lauren Chandler of Denver, N.C., Kelly Hallman of Cornelius, N.C. and Ashlyn Hallman of Charlotte, one great-granddaughter Harper Chandler of Clemmons along with many nieces and nephews. Betty is also survived by her sister Phyllis King of Pineville, N.C.
