Elizabeth " Betty" O. Miller, age 77, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Betty was born on May 16, 1945 to the late Frank Overcash and Elizabeth Barsh Overcash. Betty grew up in the Mecklenburg area and graduated from North Mecklenburg High School.
Betty was a long time member of Derita Presbyterian Church. In her earlier years she served as the church secretary. Betty also served as the Justice of Peace for Mecklenburg County.
Betty has left to cherish her memories her 2 children, Debra Miller Waddell (Richard) and James E. Miller Jr. (Sonia); 3 grandchildren, Heather Miller, Deanna Waddell, and Dillon Waddell; sister, Carol O. Goforth (Tommy), and three nieces.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, James E. Miller Sr. and one brother, Joe Overcash.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of Cabarrus County as well as Pruitthealth of Harrisburg.
A visitation for Betty will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Derita Chapel, 6300 Mallard Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28262. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Derita Presbyterian Church, 2230 W Sugar Creek Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262. A committal service will occur Friday, September 30, 2022 at 12:45 PM at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208.
