Betty Joan Ward

Ms. Ward was born on March 15, 1930 in Gravesend England located just outside of London. After the war, she and her family moved to New Jersey where she would later become a manager at Chemical Bank.

Ms. Ward had a passion for dancing and met her dance partner who would later become her husband. Together they won many dance competitions and were contestants at the 1960 Harvest Moon Ball in Madison Square Garden New York.

She is survived by her son Clifford E. Ward and wife, Jean; granddaughter Shannon of Wilmington, DE; and three grandsons, Christopher G. Ward, Steven K. Ward and Alan R. Ward. Ms. Ward was preceded in death by her son, Gary K. Ward.

A visitation for Betty will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.

The service to celebrate and honor her life will be held Friday, February 25, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church, 2701 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28209.

A committal service will occur Friday, February 25, 2022 from 11:30 AM at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.
