She was born in Robinson County, NC on December 13, 1937, a daughter of the late Rufus Dulon Nye and Letha Taylor Nye.
She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Charlotte.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Lawrence A. Curtis Jr.
Survivors include 3 sons, Larry Curtis III of Concord, NC, Gregory Nye Curtis of Charlotte, NC and Christopher Lee Curtis and his wife, Heidi of Concord, NC.
Also surviving are a brother, Phil Nye and his wife, Polly of Charlotte, NC, three grandchildren and one great grandson.
Graveside services are planned for 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2014 at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ron Helms officiating.
McEwen Funeral Service-Derita Chapel is handling the services.
