Bill Johnson

Mr. Johnson, age 87, of Charlotte, died Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House. Born December 1, 1923 in Mecklenburg Co., he was the last of twelve children born to the late Ed Johnson and Emma Cline Johnson. Mr. Johnson served in the U.S. Marines during WWII and Korean Conflict. He retired from Sears after more than twenty years of service. Mr. Johnson was a member of Johnston Memorial Presbyterian Church.

The service to celebrate the life of Bill Johnson will be celebrated 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at McEwen Funeral Service - Derita Chapel with Reverend Mike Davis, officiating. Entombment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include his children, Frankie and Steve Weaver of Coral Springs, FL, Roger and Debby Johnson of Charlotte, Becki and Gary Workman of Harrisburg, Garry and Brenda Johnson of Charlotte and William and Alina Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Mae Hartsell Johnson; and 11 siblings.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Neighborhood C Culberson Village of Aldersgate for the compassionate care provided during the last years his life.
