He was born January 2, 1933, in Lincolnton, North Carolina, the son of Robert Moorman Roseman and Johanna Haynes Roseman. He was one of eight siblings, six brothers and two sisters.
Graduating from Lincolnton High School in 1950, he joined the Air Force in 1951. He served a year in the Korean War and was stationed at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina as a Ground Control Approach Radar Operator. While he was in the Air Force
he took courses in radar equipment and electronics, which inspired him to pursue a career in electrical engineering.
After leaving the Air Force in 1955, he began his studies at Charlotte College in the 1960s while working part time and being married and with a son. Bill and a fellow classmate made up the first and only four year electrical engineering graduating class at Charlotte College, before it became UNCC. He then went to work at HD&R for three years. In 1968 he and three partners joined to form Electrical Consulting Engineering (ECE) where he worked until eventually retiring.
Billy’s main focus and drive in life was his family, especially his wife Elizabeth. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He often called his siblings every day to speak with them for several hours.
He was preceded by his seven siblings. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Blanton Roseman, and his grandson, Brett Haynes Roseman.
A service to celebrate Billy's life will be held at McEwen Funeral Home - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210 on Friday September 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM with a Reception to follow.
