Blonnie was born in Washington, NC, on September 23, 1946, to Ella Mae Baynor and Tom Baynor. She grew up in Pinetown, NC and graduated from Bath High School.
As a reflection of her care for others, she spent many of her working years facilitating caretakers for those needing home health care for their newborns, aging parents, or sick loved ones. Her compassion for those in need was evident in the way she took care of her mother and her husband's parents in their illnesses and deaths. She and her husband would take their parents on annual vacations to Disney World for multiple years. Blonnie also had a touch with animals. A feral cat hung around her workplace for months but decided Blonnie was his person, planting himself at her feet while she worked. He became her pet, enjoying a life of luxury inside her home.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Gene Baynor. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Steve Caudill; and one son, Phillip Jordan (Donna). She had four grandchildren: Ashley Jordan, Kaitlyn Dubberly (CJ), MacKenzie Lynn (Andrew), and Tyler Jordan; and two great grandchildren: Ella Jae Brown and Jacklyn Rose Dubberly. She also had a sister by heart, Gina Allison.
Blonnie was admired by her friends and family for the way she could make you feel special and valued. If she sensed a need, she went into action and did all she could to make life easier for you. She was a hard worker who seldom relaxed, knowing she could lend a hand to anyone needing it. Her love was fierce and genuine, and those lucky enough to be in her life loved her immensely.
There will be a memorial service at Paw Creek Presbyterian Church, 7400 Mt. Holly Road in Charlotte, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 11:00am, with visitation after the service.
