Bobbie Joe Butler

Dr. Bobbie Joe Butler, 81,of Charlotte, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Visitation is on Monday, December 1, from 9AM until 11AM, at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, N.C. The burial will immediately follow at Noon at Evergreen Cemetery.

Born in Gastonia, Dr. Butler was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Butler's veterinary practice, Butler Animal Hospitals, served the pet owners of the Charlotte area for thirty years, before his retirement in 1992. Dr. Butler was a member of West Gate Lodge #738, along with the American and North Carolina Veterinary Medical Associations, and the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians.

Dr. Butler was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth. He is survived by his son R. J. Butler, of Elkhart, Indiana, and R. J.'s wife, April Sellers, along with brothers Bill Butler, James Butler, and sister Peggy Butler.
