Bobbie was born in Norton, Virginia, and was a graduate of Wise High School. She worked at Bank of America until her retirement in 1994. She also faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher at Midwood Baptist Church for many years. Above all, Bobbie was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother whose life was a blessing to her family and all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Elam; her granddaughter, Brooke (Curtis) Robbins; and her four great-granddaughters, Evelyn, Eleanor, Amelia, and Naomi.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 74 years, William Elam; her son, Scott Elam; her grandson, Brandon Elam; her parents; and five siblings.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Home – Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Central Church of God in Charlotte, North Carolina, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
