Bobby J. Teseniar

Growing up in Forest City, Bobby attended Cool Springs High School and graduated with the class of 1955. Shortly after, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy on June 1st, 1955 and served honorably and courageously until he was discharged on May 31st, 1959.

Following his discharge, he pursued higher education and was awarded an Associate’s Degree in Police Science Criminology as well as Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Ministry.

Bobby was a consummate minister of Jesus Christ, and his great passion was preaching the gospel, both in the pulpit and to everyone he came in contact with out in the world.

Hardworking, reliable, and brave, Bobby retired from the Charlotte City Police Department, now known as the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, on January 31st, 1987 after 27 years of dedicated service.

Despite retiring from the department, Bobby’s desire to serve and protect his community continued, and thus he began working for the Federal Reserve Bank in Charlotte as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer. After 15 years, he earned his second retirement on September 1st, 2003.

In his free time, Bobby enjoyed coin collecting and visiting the local flea market. He was generous, honest, and dependable; he gave freely of his time, talent, and money to those in need.

Those left to honor Bobby’s memory include his loving wife of 60 years, Sybil Teseniar; his beloved children, Jeffrey Bobby Teseniar (Kathie), Barry Thomas Teseniar (Denise), both of Charlotte, and Wesley Derrick Teseniar (Shenagh), of Lincolnton, NC; his brother, Donald Teseniar of Lawndale, NC; as well as nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Bobby has been reunited in Heaven with his parents, Thomas and Mattie Teseniar.

Friends are cordially invited to join the Teseniar family for a visitation from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Saturday, February 26th, 2022 at Shady Brook Baptist Church, 2940 Belmeade Drive in Charlotte. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00pm with Pastor Tom Ravan officiating. The interment will follow, via an escorted procession, at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens in Charlotte.
