Bonita Ward

Bonita Ward entered into peace on January 30, 2025 at the age of 88. She was born in May of 1936 in Allentown, PA to Harold and Helen Wieder. Mrs. Ward grew up in Allentown and married John Ward in June of 1958. The two met in first grade and shared 54 wonderful years of marriage together before he passed in 2013.

Bonita, a loving mother and proud grandmother, was an avid tennis player. She had many interests including bowling, playing bridge, traveling with her husband, and collecting seashells. She was very involved for many years with The Charity League of Charlotte which raised money for the Sunshine Day Nursery. Most of all, Bonita loved her family and friends and was a gentle and beautiful soul.

Bonita is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Eric Stephen Ward and Denise Ward of Westlake, OH, John Michael Ward and Judith- Ann Ward of Franklin, TN, daughter Melissa Ward Ford and husband Kris Ford of West End, NC, and four grandchildren, Haley Ward, Paige Ward Cook, and Savannah and Jack Ford.

Please join us in celebrating Bonita's life on Saturday, February 15, 2025, with a visitation starting at 1:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC.
