

Brenda is preceded in death by her husband and Love Of Her Life, Robert Downie; her twin sister, her Heart & Soul, Linda Rodriguez; and her Beautiful sister, Penny Miller.
Brenda is survived by her daughter, Ashley Downie of Charlotte who was her Entire World. Sisters Debbie Hartzell and husband Charlie, Rebekah Kaczmarek and husband Joel. Brothers Steven Eades and wife Cindi, Kenneth Eades and wife Natalie, Joel Barringer and wife Susan, as well as her brother-in-law Bob Rodriguez. In addition with too many to mention individually were all of the numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends that she loved.
Brenda graduated from Stanton River High School in Bedford County, VA and attended Virginia Western Community College where she studied Art.
Brenda worked with US Foods in Fort Mill, SC for 20 years until she retired in 2018. She loved her job as a credit manager and made many lifelong friends along the way. Once retired Brenda spent her time lounging by the pool, her backyard was her oasis. She also enjoyed playing music, painting, completing puzzles and shopping with her daughter. She loved her cat Ginger who was her shadow and she loved spending time with her grand pups Bailey, Cashew and Goose.
Brenda lived her life surrounded by love, both giving and receiving. It is said that when we pass we get to take the love with us, for Brenda she begins her next journey with a full heart.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 13 at 1pm at McEwen Funeral Services, Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.
