I was a friend of Cal and Pauline Gibson's, and got to know Brooks and Margaret through them.  We all had dinner several times a year for many years, and we visited them at home.  I have never known a couple that were more fun, and talented.  My goodness, they built their house..I mean, they actually built it.  In fact, I think they built two.  And Margaret was a member of Mensa.  We lost touch for a while after Pauline died, and I didn't know of Margaret's illness until I called them one day.  Margaret told me about her illness.  I was astounded that someone so vital had been stricken with such a thing.  And calling from time to time, I knew from talking to Brooks that he was giving her loving care.  Sadly, she didn't feel like company at that time.  I understood.  And then after Margaret died, later on, Brooks told me of his illness. Margaret and Brooks was more than an aunt and uncle to Roger and myself, they were our friends.  When we lived across from them and went over frequently to visit and talk with Margaret and hear Brooks' stories I always left there with a happy feeling.  My favorite story that Brooks would tell was about his pet goat and the convertible top.  I miss both of them deeply and they will both always be in my heart.

I read of Brooks passing and I am deeply moved by my memories of him.  Brooks was a gentle and  quiet man who loved his family.  For 10 years Brooks was a wonderful father-in-law to me and I believe the world is much dimmer with the loss of this kind man.  I am sorry to hear of this great loss in the Luckey family.
