A most eloquent, gracious and gentle man left us a few minutes past midnight on January 9, 2016. While those left behind to continue earth’s journey do so with a heaviness of heart and soul that only grief can bestow, we do so knowing he travelled as he would have wished…to the light of happiness and joy that knows no pain, suffering or sadness. He will be waiting to open the gates for his wife Deborah; his son, Richard; his daughters, Charlyn and Vonita; his grandchildren, Rebekah, Matt and Emma; as well as all our other family and friends he loved.
His family asks his friends to join us at his home to honor him from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016.
Richard’s family sends sincere thanks to the members of the CMC-Main STICU, who cared for Richard over the past week. Your honesty enabled us to help Richard make the final journey in a manner that symbolized the man everyone knew – dignified and stylish.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a gift to Second Harvest Food Bank, 500 Spratt St. #B, Charlotte, NC 28206, or The Charlotte Humane Society, 2700 Toomey Ave., Charlotte, NC 28203.
