Carlos is survived by his wife, Ana Carina Gimenez; daughters, Daniela, Florencia, and Augustina; son, Luciano; grandchildren, Nathan, Isabella, Thiago, and Mateo; mother, Juana Dominga Ortiz; sister, Inez; and brother, Adrian.
Carlos was preceded in death by his father, Juan Carlos Lagos; mother-in-law, Antonia Cabrera; brothers-in-law, Hugo Gimenez and Silverio Gimenez; and grandmother, Gabriela Montana.
With steady integrity and a humility that never sought attention, Carlos lived in a way that placed what mattered most at the center—his family. His joy was often found in simple, faithful routines: reading, sharing unhurried time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, and watching soccer with his son, Luciano. In those moments, his love for life was unmistakable—quietly expressed, sincerely given, and deeply felt by those closest to him.
Carlos also valued belonging and connection beyond the home. He was a member of Club San Martin (soccer club) and Peronista (political party), commitments that reflected his enduring interest in community and the causes and traditions that shaped him.
He will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for soccer, and his abiding appreciation for life—carried with dignity, warmth, and grace.
A Funeral Service will be held at McEwen Funeral Service Inc., 6300 Mallard Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28262, on July 17, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
A Committal Service will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens, 1520 W Sugar Creek Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262, on July 17, 2026, at 4:15 pm.
