

Carol Dorothy Hall, of Charlotte, NC, 75, is now playing bridge at the right hand of God. Born on March 24, 1939 in Queens, NY to parents William and Edna Ellis Smith. Carol passed away peacefully on December 2, 2014.
She went to Levittown High School and twenty years after raising her family attended Stony Brook University where she received her degree in Biology and eventually worked as a research assistant in neurobiology. Carol was an avid bridge player, voracious reader, theater buff, loyal church parishioner, expert gardener and seamstress, and the” hostess with the mostest”.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, William C. Hall. Her brother, Robert E. Smith also preceded her death. She is survived by her three loving children; Kerry Flye (Bill) of Charlotte, Brent Hall (Theresa) of Charlotte, and Jocelyn Suglia (Ben) of Cutchogue, NY. She is also survived by her eight cherished grandchildren; Austin and John Flye, Caitlin, Connor and Will Hall, and Gage, Colby and Ella Suglia and many loving nieces and nephews.
She and Bill lived in Baldwin, NY, Bayport, NY, Warwick, Bermuda, Beaufort, SC and then established dual residency in Charlotte, NC and Riverhead, NY. Carol was a devout member of South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, Bayport United Methodist Church in Bayport, NY, and Riverhead United Methodist Church in Riverhead, NY.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday December 6 at 11:00 am followed by a visitation reception at South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church, 8601 Bryant Farms Road, Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Carol’s honor to American Cancer Society - Pancreatic Research, P.O. Box 22718 Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718
