Carolyn R. Edwards

Born May 27, 1937, Carolyn was a life-long resident of Charlotte, North Carolina.

She graduated from Harding High School, Class of 1955, and Appalachian State Teacher’s College, Class of 1959.

Carolyn taught elementary school for over 30 years in Charlotte area schools, including Berryhill, Catawba Heights, Oakdale, University Park, and Paw Creek.

She is predeceased by her parents, Sloan and Mae Robinson; her husband of 49 years, Herbert “Hub” Edwards; and her daughter, Julia Edwards Mauney.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Edwards and his wife Shelley, and her beloved granddaughters, Catherine and Elizabeth. She is also survived by her faithful companion Fifi.

Visitation will be held at Durham Memorial Baptist Church, 1601 Toddville Rd, Charlotte, NC, 28214, on December 6, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Following the visitation, the funeral service will take place at the church at 1:00 pm.

A private burial will be held at Fair View United Methodist Church, Mooresville, NC, after the service.

Memorials may be sent to the Durham Memorial Baptist Church Pantry Fund, to the Appalachian State University General Scholarship Fund, or to a charity of your choice.
