Carolyn Y. Henderson

Carolyn Yoder Henderson, 85, passed away January 21, 2021, in Asheville, NC after a courageous battle with COVID19. She formerly lived in Charlotte, NC for 54 years before moving to Brookdale Asheville Walden Ridge in Asheville, NC. She was born in Lincolnton, NC on March 28, 1935, and later lived in Gastonia, NC and Smyrna, GA. She was a 1953 graduate of Gastonia High School and was the wife of the late Edwin Richard Henderson, Sr. and daughter of the late James Memory Yoder and Margaret Gladys Greene Yoder.

She is survived by her son, Edwin “Eddie" Richard Henderson II (Shanna) of Canton, NC; daughter, Beth Henderson Cloninger (Robert); granddaughter, Laura Cloninger Hughes (David), and great-grandsons, Gabriel Luke and Noah Alexander Hughes, all of Oak Island, NC. She is also survived by her sister, Joanne Yoder Foerste (David) of Gastonia, NC; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to the current Coronavirus Pandemic, the graveside service will be held at an unspecified date for immediate family only. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a safer date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity. Services entrusted to Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service.
