Carolyn Gosnell Owens

Carolyn Gosnell Owens, 82, of Matthews, NC passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Born January 22, 1942 in Mecklenburg County, she was the eldest child of four children born to late Clarence and Verona (Mathis) Gosnell. She married JD Owens on November 3, 1966 York, SC.

A graduate of Central High School, she was the owner and operator of Pineville Flowers from 1988 until 2005. She was also a former employee of Hanford's Florist and Westinghouse Electric Corporation.

Carolyn is loved by everyone that met her and never met a stranger. She made everyone feel important with her outgoing personality. An angel here on earth and now she is watching over us in Heaven.

She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, dancing, boating on Lake Norman, traveling to the beach and spending time with her grandchildren and her fur baby, Bella.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, JD; children, Renee (Ron) and Steve (Wendy); grandchildren, Brooke, Nick, Skye, Kinley; great-grandchildren, Joe and Emily; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Randy; siblings, Marsha, Wanda "Corkey," and William "Buddy."

A visitation for Carolyn will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 12:00 PM until the time of her memorial service at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. Condolences may be submitted at www.forestlawnwest.com.
