

Carrie Louise Hinson, 82, died Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital-Huntersville. A daughter of the late George Johnson Phillips and Amanda Lee Phillips, she was born in Madison, SC on July 10, 1930. Mrs. Hinson attended the Sunday School Class at Huntersville Oaks were she was a resident and was a former member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and especially enjoyed flower gardening.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00PM, Thursday, January 3rd at the Mint Hill Chapel of McEwen Funeral Service, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, with the Rev. Don Newell officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral hour.
Mrs. Hinson is survived by two sons, Mike Hinson (Jenefer), of Orangeburg, SC, Scott Hinson (Stacey) of Denver, NC; two daughters, Teresa Bollinger (Tommy), of Huntersville, NC, Lisa McGuire, of Mooresville, NC; three brothers, Henry Phillips (Jean), L.B. Phillips (Vermelle), Hurbert Phillips (Wilhelmina) all of Westminister, SC; a sister, Mary Turpine (Chaffin) of Westminister, SC; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her dog, Buddy Love and her cat, Patches.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hinson was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years,
Joseph M. Hinson, in 1998.
The family wishes to thank all the nurses and CNA’s of Huntersville Oaks for the compassionate care they provided during Mrs. Hinson’s six year stay.
