Catherine Simmonard Billarant, 59, of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012, at her home. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. She was born to Jean and Hugette Simmonard, December 4, 1952, in Pontoise, France. Catherine married Gerard Billarant in 1977 and lived in Paris until relocating to Charlotte, NC in 1984.
Catherine was a loving mother, a devoted wife, and a breast cancer survivor. She was a caring person with a strong heart for others. She was passionate about her life, the people around her and dedicated to fighting the battles she faced.
She is survived by her husband, Gerard; two children: son, Mathieu and daughter, Julie; brother, Dominique; and her parents.
