Catherine Fisher Long

Mrs. Long, 91, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Born December 14, 1921 in Gaston County, NC, she was the last surviving child of twelve of the late Robert Franklin Fisher and Minnie Estella Lumsden Fisher.

Mrs. Long lived her faith through her actions and will be remembered by her family as a loving mother and wonderful caregiver, not only to her children and grandchildren, but to her extended family, as well as her friends.

She is survived by her children, Lloyd J. Long, Jr. (Deborah), Nils L. Long (Donna) and Renee L. Helms (Greg); six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Her husband, Lloyd James Long, Sr., preceded her in death in 1998.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 6th from the graveside in Sharon Memorial Park with her grandson, Rev. Philip Long, officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
