Charles, fondly known as Chuck, grew up in Inglewood, California where he worked during high school at his father’s pharmacy soda counter. While working the counter, he developed an obsession for ice cream that continued throughout his life. He worked for TWA and attended the University of Southern California where his love for Trojan football began. Chuck starred in several theater productions at USC. In addition, he sang, danced and did impressions in a night club act. He moved on to work for Yale in various positions in sales and marketing until he retired. He was widely regarded in the architectural hardware field and taught many classes worldwide. As a family man, he was very active in youth sports coaching and serving as a board member.
Chuck loved to spend his spare time grilling and working around the house woodworking, designing and laying patios using the skills he learned building a home for his parents alongside his brothers. He was very active in the Waxhaw Lions Club. He loved watching his USC Trojans and Carolina Panthers play football.
Chuck has spent the last 50 plus years in the Carolinas with his beloved wife Dolores P. Charter who predeceased him. Chuck is also predeceased by his brother Donald J. Charter.
