Charles Edward Foushee

In September of 1951, Charles enrolled in Tennessee Temple Univeristy in Chattanooga, TN, where he later graduated on May 23, 1955. In December of 1952, he was ordained to the Gospel Ministry by Andrews Memorial Baptist Church in Graham, NC. On September 1, 1953, Charles married Roena Chastain at Ridgeview Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN. In April of 1957, the Foushees moved to Charlotte, NC to organize a new church under the name of West Charlotte Baptist Church, which later changed to Ridgeview Baptist Church. On February 13, 1976, Charles received an honorary Doctor of Divinity from Florida Bible College in Hollywood, Fl.

Charles is survived by his brother-in-law, Floyd Chastain; sister-in-law, Veneer Murphy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Thomas Jr., Jack, and James Foushee; and sister, Mary Foushee Lashley.

Funeral services for Rev. Dr. Charles Foushee will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Forest Lawn West Funeral and Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Dr. Charlotte, NC 28208. Visitation 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Memorials in his honor can be made to Charlie Marshall Ministries, P.O.
