Charles Franklin Richardson

Charles was born in Knoxville, TN and attended O’Donoghue Catholic High School in Charlotte and Belmont Abbey College. He worked at NCNB in Charlotte from 1960 through 1975 where he met his wife, Carolyn. In 1976, they moved to Middletown, NJ where he worked as a Senior Vice President in the Bond Department for Garvin Guybutler on Wall Street in NYC. Upon retiring in 1996, the Richardsons returned to North Carolina where he worked in real estate in Hickory.

Charles’ interests were diverse, ranging from a love of 1950’s Doo Wop music to following the UNC Tarheels basketball team.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, and two sisters, Betty Wade and Nancy Kendall.

He is survived by his devoted children, Allen (Megan), Patrick, and Erin as well as two grandchildren, Adam and Julia. He is also survived by a sister and two brothers, Ann Layman of Charlotte, John Richardson of Charlotte, and Michael Richardson of Memphis, TN; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21st at Harry & Bryant Co., 500 Providence Road.
