Remember Charlie well from Ridgeview days! Preacher Foushee's best friend. 

Charlie Marshall always taught us that the Bible, Gods Word, was very special and that you don't put anything on it, you take care of it and that you know where it is!  That was 44 years ago, and I have always remembered that teaching.  Sometimes when my friends and I are playing "remember when" Brother Marshall's teaching respect for the Bible will come up.  He and his family are very special!!!

Nothing but special, precious memories of Charlie, his wife, Daisy and Judith.  What a legacy to leave and the thousands of souls saved because if his faithfulness and love to the Lord, his calling, his Word and his dedication.  Welcome home,  good and faithful servant!  Gerri Rogers Phil. 1:3

Bro Charlie came to Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle where my father, Dr Bob Bevington, was founder and pastor for 57 years. Bro Marshall came for Childrens Ministries every other year for many years, then he began having Family Ministries every other year, and at last he began preaching prophetic sermons. He loved the Lord and pointed many to Christ during those years. We knew and loved Mrs Daisy, then we knew and loved Mrs Judith. How wonderful they each were to support and help Bro Marshall! When my Dad began searching for the pastor God wanted to lead the Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle when my fathers health was failing and he knew he would soon be going to his eternal home, it was Bro Charlie who knew “just the right man”. It was Bro Tony Greene! Bro Charlie knew exactly who the Lord had in mind to become the pastor of Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle and President of Knoxville Baptist Christian Schools. He is a perfect match, and what a wonderful job Bro Greene is doing! Thank you Bro Charlie for your walk with the Lord and for all the things you taught us throughout the years. We’ll see you soon…….over there!

Trou, Lori, & Tad, We are so sorry to hear of your dad passing.  He was a wonderful man of God. So many sweet memories of  his great choir leading, his artistic talents and end of times  sermons and so much more.  Always caring for lost souls!

We have precious memories of Charles Ray singing at Charlie’s prophecy conferences. For more than a decade we had the privilege of traveling through many states as a team to the different meetings. It was a joy being in ministry with Charlie and Judith.  


   I am so very sorry to hear the passing of this great man of God! It was always a joy and privilege to listen to him preach, especially about the end times. I will never forget him blowing the shofar, he showed us what to listen for when the Lord returns!
   Judith, my deepest condolences to you my Sister. Praise God for all of His promises!!!
   As Bro Charlie wrote in his last note to Harbor Baptist Church, “See you in the clouds!”

I starting working for Mr Marshall when I was 14 in his upholstery and canvas shop. He was very talented with art, colors and design. He spent many hours doing signage and art around the church. He made the luggage bags that went on top of bus #1 that took the youth group to Mexico. Being his employee he would volunteer me to be a character or helper in some of the productions he lead. He was my mentor, he taught me to sew, paint a sign, make cushions and I got to drive his VW truck. He also taught me how to give to the church, not only money but time. He introduced me to chocolate malts and golf. He was really competitive and always beat me at games. Like I said, he was a great influence on my life. Thanks to the Lord for letting me work with him.

Brother Charlie Marshall was one of my heroes from my earliest memories. I remember going to the visitation when his first wife Daisy had died, and how he knelt down and smiled amid his tears to thank me for coming. He signed the first four Bibles I ever owned with that classic handwriting and Matt. 6:33. That was one of the first verses I ever memorized thanks to his influence. Any time Brother Marshall was within driving distance of Charlotte in a meeting, he would invite me to come bring my violin and play. I loved watching the boys and girls compete to fill their goal up with coins for the offering. I loved his different colored windscreens for his microphones. And Mrs Judith would accompany me at times on the piano. In my first pastorate, I welcomed Brother Marshall. He preached to the kids in the first service and on prophecy Sunday night. He encouraged me as a pastor to focus not on the negative things but the positive things God was doing. He mentioned counseling pastors in his traveling ministry. He is one of the ones I think of when I think of an old soldier of the cross going home. I am what I am today in part due to his influence. May God comfort the Marshall family in the way that only He can. I look forward to seeing him again.

Toru, So sorry for your loss. Lost my mom and dad, within ten days, of each  other a few years back. I still miss them, as I know you will miss your dad. Take comfort in the promises in the Bible that you will one day see him, and your other saved family members, again in glory.

Thank you for your faithfulness!  I am 49 and one of thousands of children who were fortunate enough to grow up looking forward to Charlie Marshall's annual crusade at our church.  So many life lessons and respect/reverence for the Word of God we learned from his ministry and have passed on to our children.  He took us to the jungles of Africa, taught us how to gather our pennies for Christ, challenged us to hide God's Word in our heart, taught us to bring a friend to church, we laughed with Billy and Spunky, and cried when his first mini church was vandalized.  Through it all he remained faithful.  God bless and meet you in Heaven!

I will never forget Bro. Marshall & the church he pulled around!  He came to Memorial Independent Church many, many times!  He was an inspiration to me!  Praying for his family!  

I too have wonderful memories of him and his family.  When I went to Northside starting in 4th grade, he was always in our chapels, led us in many spring concerts ( the most memorable for me was "And God stepped out on space".....and the kids of our family were all in the same grades as the kids of their family.  He was Northside churches choir leader for many years and an incredible evangelist.  He also helped preach our preacher's (Preacher Woodall) funeral.  He was a great friend to Preacher and Sherby and now he and Preacher Woodall are rejoicing together in heaven!  So to Lori, Toru and Tad, we send many prayers for your family.....just wanted you to know what a wonderful legacy your Dad left for all of us.  We will continue to keep your family in our prayers.....we all will see him again one day!

I’m so thankful for Brother Marshall’s  ministry over these years and the influence he had on our daughter and son-in-law. They still quote things that they learned under his ministry. He will have great rewards in heaven.

I was 11 years old when Charlie Marshall led the children's ministry & worship music at Northside. It has been obvious thru the years that he had a heart for ministry. The last time I had the privilege of seeing him was at the 50th anniversary celebration at Rev Gene Cole's church about 8 years ago. I know he will be missed...but what a time he's having in heaven, right now!!! Prayers for the family.

We came to Northside in 1972 and Charlie was the choir director, and also the bus ministry pastor.  We helped with a bus route and loved working with Charlie and Daisy.  They were both Champions for Christ, and I know he heard “Welcome Home thou good and faithful servant”.  

This is Mrs Rebecca Dean.,   Charlie Marshall invited me and my husband dwayne and our family to heartiage baptism church.and we are so thankful for him.we have been going every since. Love and prahere always.      Ps i know charlie is with jesus. New life now watching over us all..blesssings
