Cherie, 65, of Charlotte, NC, passed away unexpectedly on March 14, 2012 at CMC-Pineville.
She was born on June 16, 1946 in Wadesboro, NC, a daughter of the late Dr. James and Imogene Covington.
Cherie attended Wadesboro High School and graduated from High Point University. After college she joined Delta Airlines as a flight attendant for a short time, and then taught elementary school at Beverly Woods in Charlotte for several years. Cherie and Steve are grandparents to Naomi Greene, 15 months.
Cherie had a vibrant passion for life and always brought smiles to the faces of everyone around her. Her greatest love was her family, whom she tirelessly cared for, and always put before herself. She also loved vacationing, beach music, parties of ANY kind, making photo albums, preparing big family dinners, and going out to dinner with friends and family. She is dearly loved and will be missed by many.
Steve, Carlton, and Karen fully realize that they could not have possibly had a better wife and mother. They will be forever grateful for her and will miss her enormously.
Cherie lived with Crohn’s Disease for many years and the family would like to acknowledge the excellent and compassionate care delivered by Dr. Oscar Brann and his nurse Jordan of Mecklenburg Medical Group.
