Cheryl Diane McDine

Born on July 23, 1950, Cheryl was the daughter of Lloyd Bowling Jr. and Mildred Bowling. She graduated from Seven Mile High School in 1968, where she participated in school plays, Science Club, and Future Homemakers of America (FHA). She also served on the Signal staff, was secretary-treasurer of the Pep Club, contributed as a student librarian, and participated in Health Careers Day.

On November 17, 1984, she married David “Dave” McDine, with whom she shared nearly 42 years of marriage. Their devotion to one another remained steadfast through her final days, with Dave by her bedside.

Cheryl was fiercely devoted to the people she loved. Her family—and the dear friends who became family—were the center of her world. She was generous to her core, always wanting to give, help, and make sure those around her were cared for—often putting their needs ahead of her own. Independent and protective of those she loved, she had a feisty spirit and a strong will that were unmistakably Cheryl. She loved deeply, worried deeply, and never did anything halfway when it came to her family. Those closest to her will remember that spirit, her fierce devotion, and, above all, the enormous heart behind it all.

In recent years, her grandsons were the light of her life. She showered them with love, cherished their time together, and found tremendous joy in being their grandmother.

Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, David “Dave” McDine; her daughter, Brittany McDine Kambur; her son-in-law, Dr. Thomas R. Kambur; her cherished grandsons; and her two brothers, Dennis Oder and Blain Bowling.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Sean David McDine, and her parents, Lloyd Bowling Jr. and Mildred Bowling.
