

At the time of his passing Chris was under the loving care of his sister Michelle, her husband John, and caregiver Evelyn.
Born on August 12, 1960, Chris was the son of the late Mario and Elizabeth Celii (Kornet). He grew up in Downingtown, PA and graduated from Downingtown High School in 1978. He was a defensive lineman for the Whippets football team and named All Ches-Mont Honorable Mention in his senior year.
Chris attended Shippensburg University and worked as a printing press operator for over 40 years, first for Reynold’s Aluminum/Alcoa and then H.S. Crocker Company.
He coached youth football for the Downingtown Young Whippets and enjoyed attending high school football games. He loved the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Minnesota Vikings, and enjoyed watching Flyers and Phillies games with friends and family, always ready with insight and old stories. Chris was a member of St. Anthony’s Lodge and remained friends with the “Johnsontown Gang” from his childhood years living on Church St.
Chris was a devoted father, a loving and caring partner, and a loyal friend. He shared his love of sports and music with everyone and cherished his time at the beach. He found joy in everyday life and enjoyed the simple pleasures. He loved his family and enjoyed the role of big brother and uncle.
He battled ALS for many years, meeting every challenge without complaint. He is survived by his partner of 18 years, Tina Morgan of Coatesville, PA; his daughter Danielle, of Aylett, VA, brothers Michael (Kathi) of Cary, NC , and Mark (Heather) of Downingtown, PA, sister Michelle Welshofer (John) of Indian Land, SC, nieces Kristin and Meagan, nephews Adrien, Luca, Maxwell, Joshua, and Ian.
A Celebration of Life for Chris will be held on Saturday, May 16th, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony’s Lodge, 255 Church Street, Downingtown, PA.
