Mrs. Keistler, 91, of Charlotte, NC went to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 13, 2019. She passed peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Keistler was born May 30, 1927 in Loris, SC. She was one of seven children, born to the late Luther Pinkney “Pink” Rogers, and Sarah Elizabeth Rabon Rogers of Tabor City, NC. Mrs. Keistler was a graduate of Tabor City High School. She moved to Charlotte, NC at the age of twenty and was employed by Charlotte Memorial Hospital as a pharmacy aid. Later that year she gained employment with Esso Oil Co. (Exxon). During this time she met her husband to be and became a wife, a mother, and a homemaker.She was preceded in death by her husband Donald M. Keistler, Sr. of 59 years.
Survivors include her son Donald M. “Monty” Keistler, Jr. and wife Jennifer R. Keistler of Indian Trail, NC; her daughter Arleen B. Keistler and Hal Byrd of Huntersville, NC; one sister Lillian R. Butler of Wilmington, NC; her nephew Charles David Osborne and wife Charlotte of Greensboro, GA; and grandchildren: Petty Officer 2nd Class (USN) Erika Barnard and husband Ryan, Brandon and Tyler Rehberg, Josh Byrd and wife Kelly, Jonathon and Jacob Byrd, and a special friend of the family Ronald Ramsey.
The Keistler family will gather at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park. A graveside service will be conducted for Mrs. Keistler at 2:30PM on Thursday, January 17, 2019. Family and friends are asked to arrive at 2:00PM if they wish to follow the procession to the gravesite. A memorial gathering will follow the service.
