Claudia was born on August 5, 1928 to the late John Wesley Fender and Nancy Elizabeth Folk Fender. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Edward Fogle of 61 years; her sister, Emily Catherine Fender Mason and her half-brother, Jacob Earl Fender.
She graduated from Lodge High School in Lodge, South Carolina. She graduated from Tri-County Hospital in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Claudia went to work at Presbyterian Hospital in January 1950 as a registered nurse where she worked for forty years. In 1984, she was awarded the Carolyn Wilson Award for Excellence in Nursing.
Claudia enjoyed crafts, crocheting, gardening and reading. She was a dedicated member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Alter Guild for many years.
The family will receive friends at noon on Friday, April 13 at McEwen Funeral Service located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte. A funeral service will follow at 1pm officiated by Rev. Dr. Peter Brown.
Claudia is survived by her two God children, James Paul Hill (Ann) from Washington, NC and Claudia Hill Lang (Bill) of Riverview, FL.
