

Born on December 27, 1942 to John and Jewell Horton Clarkson, Cliff was raised in Charlotte. As a lover of all types of music, he played in a band during his younger days.
He was an admirer of nature, dogs, hunting and gem stones along with photography. Some of his cherished past times were watching the bird in his bird feeders while sitting outside with his faithful dog, Isabelle; fishing with his family and just enjoying the laughter of his surrounded family.
Cliff discovered the internet as a way to stay in touch with his many friends around the world. He loved chatting with friends near and far as he could make anyone smile and always left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Cliff was a sweet soul who will be fiercely missed by all who knew him.
Left to mourn his loss are children Richard (Audree) Gilbert, Adrian Clarkson (Chris Heary Jordan), Jimmy Clarkson (Christine Bowers), Tina Clarkson (Stacy Cook) and Miranda (James) Reichert; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Cliff is preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife Saundra.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10 at 10am at McEwen Funeral Service located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte. The funeral service will follow at 11am with burial immediately following at Sharon Memorial Park.
