Clifford Cliff Edward Long

While he attended Groveton High School in Alexandria, Virginia, Cliff was member of the DeMolay. After graduation, Cliff joined the Navy and later graduated from Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC. He was a Cryptologist Specialist with the Navy and retired after 25+ years of active and reserve service as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He was able to travel around the globe during his time with the Navy. In 1974, Cliff began his career with CBW Communications Engineers in Charlotte as a project administrator specializing in contracts. Cliff was a collector of many types of memorabilia as well as an avid Panthers and Charlotte Checkers fan.

Cliff is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sisters, Jean Mahon of Virginia Beach, VA and Helen (Ron) Stevens of Huntingtown, MD; nephews, Cliff and Ed Mahon and Greg (Jasmin) and Eric (Abby) Stevens and cousins, Tom Reinke and Linda Johnson.

A visitation reception will be held from noon until 2:00 pm on Monday July 22 at McEwen Funeral Service- Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte.
