OBITUARY

Clyde Zerlin Price Jr.

December 19, 1932April 29, 2020

Clyde Z. Price Jr., age 87 of Midland, NC passed away peacefully at home on April 29, 2020. He was surrounded by love and prayers. He was born December 19, 1932, the son of the late Clyde Z. Price Sr. and Loma Trull Price, of Unionville, NC. He was proceeded in death by his siblings: Ellen, Ruth, Johnny, and Peggy.

In 1953, Clyde was drafted in support of the Korean War and honorably served in the United States Army from December 1, 1953 – November 11, 1955. He completed a 14-week course for General Equipment Repair, was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and a Certificate of Appreciation for serving in the Korean War.

After his time in the U.S. Army, Clyde worked at Piedmont Natural Gas in Charlotte, NC for 38 years until he retired, then began another career as a security guard for Security Forces Inc., Charlotte, NC where he was loved and appreciated for his dedication to meet everyone and the pride he had taking care of people.

Clyde was a faithful, Christian man that would share his love for Jesus with everyone he met. He had a passion for music; he played trumpet, piano, guitar, clarinet and loved to sing. He used his talent to serve the Lord by singing in the choirs of several churches over the years. Clyde filled every room with love and laughter or a song!

Clyde was passionate about his garden and provided vegetables to everyone in the neighborhood and throughout the community. He loved his tractor and any excuse to get on it!

Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. - John 14:1-3

His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness! - Mathews 25:21

Clyde is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Reynolds Price, of 66 years, son Tim, daughter Tonia (Mike), grandchildren Brittany (Dustin), Jessica (Nathan), Raven, and great grandchildren Hayden, Leela, and Malachi, and several nieces, nephews and cousins that love him dearly.

I have many fond memories as a small child in the Price household listening to Junior, Johnny, Peg, Clyde ,Junior's father and my mother Ruth sing around the piano. They were all blessed with wonderful musical abilities, now Junior will join them in Heaven along with Ellen, how wonderful that will be. If ever there was a man who walked God's path and showed it in his life it would be my uncle Junior. I will miss you until I see you again in Heaven,
Love Dan

I loved to hear Clyde sing and sometimes I was lucky enough to get to sing with him, which I liked better than banana pudding.
See you soon Brother Clyd. Maybe I'll get that song right up there. See you soon.
Your Brother in Christ,
