She is survived by her daughters, Alice (Mark) Bell of Atlanta, GA, Ana Jennings, Charlotte, NC, and Amy (Jim) Edmonds of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Zach (Shelley) Bell of Clearwater, FL, Cristina Lee Bell (Matt) Trantham of Charlotte, NC and Cristina Joy Edmonds (Sean) Sauve; great granddaughters, Emma Bell and Audrey Sauve.
Cristina was a member of The World Gospel Mission Church in McAllen, Texas and taught in the Women's Bible Class when she lived in McAllen in the 1960's and into the early 70's before she moved with her husband and family to Beaumont, Texas. Her husband, Arturo Armendaris, preceded her in death in 1997. She enjoyed many quality years of life while living with her daughters Amy and Ana, until her health began to dramatically decline about 6 years ago. No matter the amount of pain and suffering that she was enduring, she continued to have a sweet disposition and a ready witness to share with doctors, nurses or anyone she came in contact with.
At the age of 75 she was enrolled as a Senior Soldier in The Salvation Army. She was a mighty prayer warrior. She touched the lives of many with her love and compassion and she will be greatly missed by all.
A Memorial Service is being planned by the family to be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM at The Salvation Army, 940 Marsh Road, Charlotte, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made in memory of Cristina Armedariz to The Salvation Army, P O Box 31128, Charlotte, NC 28231-1128.
Arrangements are in the care of Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, Charlotte, NC.
