Daisy was never like others, and it started with her name. Yu Wah Cheung Chow Ching? Daisy Eng? How about Karen? When asked why, she simply said, “Why not?”
Born in Hong Kong, Daisy lived a difficult life. When she moved to America—first to California, then landing in Charlotte—she didn't know the language and lacked traditional skills. She struggled deeply and didn't always have the guidance she deserved.
But Daisy’s response to every obstacle was always, “Why not?”
With no English and nothing to her name, she started her own business. She built Pure Relax into the highest quality, highest integrity massage and beauty shop in Charlotte. She earned an honest living by helping and healing others, and in transforming their lives, her own life became a beautiful story of meaning.
She married and deeply loved an American man who didn’t speak a word of Chinese. Why not?
She idolized her Buddha above all else, holding a strong and unwavering faith.
In one of her final days, she said it was time to drop the human body because it wasn't important. When asked why, she gave her final answer: “Why not?”
Daisy taught us to live from moment to moment, to love the people you love big time, and to stand firm in what you believe. We will all miss this woman who lit up our lives. We will remember her for the profound happiness she gave, never took, and the incredible beauty of how she chose to live.
