Gramma Wamma, one of my favorite memories of you, was our sleepovers. I loved playing restaurant, and you were always a willing patron. I played for hours in the garage classroom. We made berry soup out of the beautiful red berry bushes in your yard. You always had a French bread pizza and vanilla ice cream on hand. At the end of the news, we’d say “Good night, Peter (Jennings)!”, and then you’d tuck me in, in the little cot bed. We said the Lord’s Prayer, and then you’d say “sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite! See you in the A.M.!” Thank you for loving your grandchildren so well. I love you a bushel and a peck...Love, Punkin

I have not lived close to my mom since 1989. I have always made at least three trips a year to Charlotte to spend time with her. The most fun and memorable visits were when mom and I took to the road and ventured through the gorgeous North Carolina and Tennessee mountains. We both were entranced by the amazing beauty of all four seasons, but the very best part was talking non-stop and laughing our heads off. We just loved every minute together. Mom was always telling all her "old" stories, which I just drank up. I would tell my hilarious tales of my kid's adventures or misadventures, and again we would break into peals of laughter. She would repeatedly ask to drive, to which I replied, " no, no thank you very much. I will drive Miss Daisy". She would tell me how much I was spoiling her and I would just smile! These trips were our personal time, full of love and joy. My health caused me to stop traveling a few years ago and it broke my heart to have our wonderful excursions come to an end. I will always keep those memories of her close to my heart. I love you, Mom!

Grandma,

You always asked how I was doing and prayed for me. I know you never lost faith that I would overcome my health struggles, and you celebrated all my successes in life. Thank you for caring about me, and all of your family, so much. I love you.

Dan, Katie, and Family, we send our deepest condolences on the passing of Dake. She was a very special lady and we have fond memories of the times we were able to share with her. As you grieve her loss, take joy in knowing she lived a long, gracious life, that she loved you all so very much, and that she is now reunited with loved ones gone before. Our love to you all,

My mother, Nina Hughett, was at The Little Flower and my sister, Barbara, and I enjoyed talking to Daisy when we visited mother. Daisy was a special lady.
