Daisy “Dake” Jacks, age 101, went to be with her Lord Jesus on May 30, 2019. She was born October 22, 1917 in LaRose, LA, the daughter of the late E. I. Breaux and Octavia Lee Breaux. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Britt Jacks, sisters Eunice Breaux and Ethel Toups and her beloved twin sister Ida Mae Rousset. Dake was a caring and dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church since 1970, a Stephen minister, and was also involved in many other facets of church work. She dearly loved her church family. Since 2013 Dake was a resident of Little Flower Assisted Living, where she became a part of another caring family. She was blessed with numerous loving relationships and was very thankful for her long and fruitful life. Surviving are her son Dan Jacks and wife Katie of Matthews, NC, and daughter Kathy Delaney of Gig Harbor, WA; grandchildren Aaron Jacks and partner Alli Whitley, Rebekah Jacks, Sarah Jacks and partner Darren Redfearn, Anna Jacks Weih and husband David, and David Jacks, Kristi Candea and husband Greg and Alli Heaton and husband Joe; great-grandchildren Brittni Stites and partner Aaron Wilbanks, Gregory and Kodi Candea, Katie and Will Heaton, Miram, Anneliese and Daniel Weih and Hendrix Redfearn; and precious great-great grandson Landyn Wilbanks. Dake is also survived by her twin sister’s daughter and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and their families, all of whom she cherished. A service of remembrance will be held at Little Flower Assisted Living on Wednesday, June 5, at 1 pm. Intermit is private. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 17, at 1 pm at Ascension Lutheran Church in Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church in honor of a long life well lived. McEwen Funeral Services is entrusted with the arrangements.
