

Born August 17, 1949 in Endicott, NY, he was a son of the late Reginald Fontana and Natalie Cordileone (Tony). After graduating from Union Endicott Senior High School in 1967, Danny attended Wilkes College and the State University of New York at Albany, and later in life studied theology at Reformed Theological Seminary.
Danny spent over thirty years in the Financial Services Industry serving many roles, including Managing Director, Partner, and eventually Founder, of his own investment and brokerage firm based in Charlotte, NC. He took every opportunity to ensure that his clients, audiences and friends would always laugh, think and learn. Danny is most well known as a television, radio and media personality, both regionally and nationally. Locally, he hosted and co-hosted several programs, including Charlotte’s Morning News on WBT radio, and made numerous appearances on Charlotte news and talk television programs. Nationally, he was a frequent contributor on Fox News, Fox Business, NPR and hosted his own local and national radio and TV program, “The Danny Fontana Show”.
Danny adored, and is survived by his wife, Mary Fontana, whom he had been married to for over 22 years. He will also be remembered as a devoted father to three children, Kimberly Bradley Skotzko of Davidson, NC, Lisa Anne Ehele and Casey Kenneth Shannon, both of Charlotte, NC, and five beloved grandchildren, Aidan and Noah Skotzko, Alex Ehele, Lillian and Gabrielle Shannon. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Leonard Fontana (Jo); his nephew, Bob Fontana; and his niece, Angel Fontana Martin, all of Charlotte, NC.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Fontana and his granddaughter, Lauren Ehele.
A service to celebrate Danny’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21st at Forest Hill Church, 7224 Park Road, Charlotte.
