Daniel J. Waccard

Born September 29, 1945 in Syracuse, NY to John and Elvira (Vicario) Waccard, Dan grew up in Syracuse and married his college sweetheart, Barbara (McDermott) in 1967.

He and Barbara raised their family in Liverpool, NY and for many years enjoyed family and friends there. Dan worked in the banking industry for most of his career. In his spare time he remodeled his home. But his greatest joy was his family.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Barbara of 47 years; daughter Cristene (Waccard) Colistra and son-in-law David Colistra of Westchester, NY; son John of Charlotte, NC; and grandsons Dean and Cal Colistra.

Known affectionately by his friends and co-workers as “Danny”, he was always there for his family and friends when they needed him. And he was the most kind and generous soul one could know.

Calling hours will be on Friday, August 22 at McEwen Pineville Chapel from 6 to 8pm. Funeral mass will be on Saturday, August 23 at 11:30 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum.
