In addition to his love of culinary and passion for cars, Lia will be remembered for his dedication to his family and the care he showed to those he loved.
He is survived by his wife, Doua Chi (Dorothy); his children Amanda, Daniel, Milla and Princeton; his mother, Ka Ying Xiong of Newton; his brothers, Moua Xiong (Sheng) of Newton, Dao Xiong (PJ) of Lincolnton and Ta Xiong of Newton; his sisters, Tracie Lee (Nhia Koua) of Chesnee, Alens Dellinger (Adrian) of Lexington and Khou Hale (Drew) of Mooresville; and many nieces and nephews. He is the oldest of his siblings.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Xia Yeng Xiong.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 3:00 pm until 11pm and Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 9am-1:30pm in the chapel of McEwen Funerals & Cremations at Forest Lawn West, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. Burial in Charlotte Memorial Gardens, 7632 Hood Road, 28215.
