Daphne Anne Mayhew Beaty

Daphne Mayhew Beaty, 88, of Charlotte, died June 14, 2011 at Huntersville Oaks in Huntersville surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late James Edmond and Annie Cornelius Mayhew. Mrs. Beaty was a dedicated member of Cook’s Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Adult Bible Class. She was retired from Bell Telephone where she worked for more than 31 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She is survived by her son, James Alan Beaty and wife, Terry of Cornelius, NC; grandson, Gregory Alan Beaty; step granddaughter. Gina Caskey; 5 great grandchildren, Anastaia, Katarina, Sebastian, Lucian and Nicolas many nieces and nephews and beloved long-time friends, Della Johnson and Martha Earnhart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Cook Beaty, sisters, Eura Auten, Della Mayhew, and Kate M. Porter; brother, James Mayhew, Jr. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 17, 2011 at Cook’s Memorial Presbyterian Church with Reverend T. J. Thompson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Cook’s Memorial Presbyterian Church, 3413 Holly-Huntersville Rd., Charlotte, NC or; Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte, 1420 E. Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.
