David was an outstanding man whose kindness and compassion for others were evident to all who knew him. His patience and willingness to listen and give in selfless ways to all who met him were what people noticed when they came into his life. He was dedicated to his wife, daughters, and extended family and had many “adopted” children in the many people who came to know him. He was always a refreshing man who could look at the bright side in every situation.
David had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh with others and at his own jokes! He never enjoyed the spotlight, instead, he worked tirelessly in the background to serve and help many people. He was a master fixer and was gifted with being able to fix anything that came across his path.
David had been a part of The Charlotte Church for over 30 years and he served his church community selflessly for all those years.
David was an IT guru at The City of Charlotte for 22 years where he truly enjoyed his job and his customers.
He is survived by his wife Viviana Kesel, daughters Kristina and husband Brian Campbell along with their baby girl Aspen, Michelle Kesel and her partner West Campbell, Ashley and her husband Ryan Bovard and Jennifer and her husband Aron Ritz, his mother-in-law Sylvia Yanez, his sister and her family Renee Funderburk of Monroe, his father Leonard Kesel of Augusta GA, his brother George Kesel, and his cousin by marriage Valentin Pena.
There will be a Memorial Service to honor and celebrate his life this Saturday, June 12, 2021, at The Charlotte Church, 2200 Ashley Road, Charlotte NC 28208, at 1 pm. Flowers may be delivered to the church on Saturday between 10 am and 12 noon.
Matthew 25:23 “His master replied, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” – David, you embodied the spirit of a servant heart on earth, may your victory in heaven be all that we imagine it can be! We will miss you terribly, but we take courage in knowing we will meet you again in heaven and live in Glory with our savior forever!
