Cheryl & family,

Your Dad was the nicest, most gentle man I ever knew. I met him first st a party for Andrew... oh so long ago. We struck up a conversation because he asked such great questions! And from then on when I would see him, he would refer to a detail of my life we discussed. I was so impressed. Once I talked to him about finances and retiring. He gave such solid advice.

He left a rich legacy !!

I know you will miss him every day. But add to your stories the one where he made a positive impact on everyone he met. ❤️

Blessings,

Jody

Pap was just the light of our lives. He had the best laugh and the most handsome smile. He always called me nickerdo. I will miss our Sunday games of cards and listing to the oldie Goldie music. I will miss coming over and giving you a hug and a good back scratch. I will see you again pap. I love you..always

What a blessing to have known the kindness, generosity and acceptance from Dave and his family. He was a joy to know and will continue to make me smile when I think of his deep voice, his laugh and how much he loved having fun with family and friends. Praying for you all and sending love & gratitude for sweet friendships & memories. Pam

Pap, what an amazing, influential man you are. The memories you have made will be treasured for the rest of my life. You loved with all your whole heart and were so proud of us. I can't put into words the sadness, the emptiness I feel. What I would give for just one more of your kisses, one more of your insightful conversations, one more puzzle with you. I will never forget your voice, your laugh, and your smile. Save a place for me in heaven, I'll be there.

Pap was a genuine person with a kind soul. He always greeted me with a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. I felt like I gained another set of grandparents when Andrew and I first started dating because of how kind he was to me from the very beginning. I have a memory of my first time meeting Mamaw and Pap where Andrew had volunteered to clean and detail their van after a long trip to a Savannah and I offered to “help”. When we finished cleaning, Pap slipped me a $20 bill and thanked me for my “help” knowing I probably did not do much haha. This is such a small example of how he loved giving to others. One of my favorite traits about Pap was his infectious laugh. I really loved his laugh. He will be truly missed. Love you, Pap, and I know I will see you again in Heaven.

My family had the pleasure of knowing Dave over the past several years. He always seemed to be smiling and enjoyed his family very much. We got to know him through Dava’s stories of her parents and it is clear how much he loved his family. He was a giving and caring man that will be missed by many.
