David was born in Charlotte on April 16, 1949, to David Tobin Sr. and Edna Tobin. He grew up in Charlotte alongside his brother, Steve, who preceded him in death. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and proudly served several years in the United States Army.
David loved being outdoors. He loved the lake, boating, nature, and long rides on his Harley-Davidson. He found happiness in beautiful days, the open road, time on the water, and being with the people he loved. He also had a special love for his dog, Emcy, who was a beloved companion and an important part of his life.
More than anything, David will be remembered for his kind and compassionate heart. He was generous to his core and the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to a stranger without thinking twice. He simply believed in helping people and treating others with kindness.
David is survived by his wife, Helen Tobin, and his daughter, Olivia Tobin. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, adventures, and, most importantly, people who loved him dearly.
David will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered for his gentle spirit and generous heart.
