David "Dave" Wilson
January 16, 1945 – June 4, 2021
Dave, 76, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021 at his home in Charlotte, surrounded by his loving wife and family members.
Born January 16, 1945 in Londonderry, Northern Ireland, he was the son of the late William Wilson and Jayne Mitchell Wilson.
He came to the United States when he was two and lived in Kearny, New Jersey. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years.
Dave's career involved working for several brokerage firms (Bache & Co., P. F. Fox and Goldman Sachs), as a stock trader.
In 1986 Dave and his family moved to Charlotte, NC and he started his own painting company (Perfect Painting Co.). He retired in 2007.
Dave is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann Wilson (Scuderi); two children, his son, Andrew Wilson of Birmingham, England, and his daughter, Kelly Ann Gibson (Steve) of Lyndenhurst, NY; and his grandchildren, Danielle Thorne, Sawyer Gibson; and great grandchildren, Eden and Kabon Thorne.
Also surviving are his sister, Carol Jagar (Bob) of Gulf Breeze, FL; uncle to Cris Jagar (Heather) and nieces and nephews to Charlotte, Ryan, Jessica and Cooper.
A brother, John Wilson, preceded him in death.
A service to celebrate Dave's life will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday, June 10 in the chapel of McEwen Funeral Service - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road.
