Delores May Culp Maness, "Granny", passed away July 27, 2018 after a long journey of Alzheimer's. Delores was born on January 13,1938 to the late George and Bertha Culp of Charlotte. She was preceded in death by husband Samuel Maness; daughter Sandra Maness; brothers Mike Culp, Donald Culp, William Culp; sister Betty Jo and husband James Tanksley. Left to cherish her memory includes sisters Brenda Lucas, Shirley (Robert) Mosley; daughter Rhonda Carlton; grandchildren Chris Carlton, Kimberly Martin, and Grandson by heart Brandon Tilly; great-grandchildren Megan, Dallas, Devon, Destiny, Aarmonnie, Donovan, Tytianna, Honesty; great-great-grandson Ty; several nieces and nephews.
After enjoying working 30 plus years at Jack's Cookie Company, granny was able to retire to help raise her great grandchildren. Granny's enjoyment in life was spending time with her family and friends. She loved cooking for her family, enjoyed outdoor adventures, coffee and her Sunday newspaper.
The family would like to say a very special thank you to Mrs. Marva Perkins for taking such great care of Granny.
The family will receive friends at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte from 12-1pm on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. Funeral Service will begin at 1pm. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens,1504 West Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte.
