December 6, 1939January 6, 2019

Family, friends and dreamers across the globe bid a heartfelt farewell to business pioneer, Dexter Royal Yager, Sr., who joined our Lord and Savior in Heaven January 6, 2019 at the age of 79. Dexter was born to Leonard and Gertrude Yager December 6, 1939 in Fulton, New York. He married his wife, Birdie Narehood in 1957 at the age of 17. Together, they raised seven children and moved their family from Rome, NY to Charlotte, NC in 1969. Dexter is survived by his wife, Birdie of 61 years, their children and spouses; Dexter Jr., Doyle and Holly, April and Michael, Lisa, Jeff and Rhonda, Leanne and Tim, Steven and Cecile, 27 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, his brother, Richard and sister, Lillian. “Dex” fulfilled his life purpose as a devoted Christian, lover of freedom, country, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, businessman, entrepreneur and author. He shared his faith and free enterprise principles freely with anyone who would listen…. and millions did

He started many businesses over the years but his first and most successful was his own independent Amway distributorship that he and his wife Birdie started 54 years ago. They were the first to achieve many of the highest levels in the Amway business which spread to more than 80 countries. The Yager name, philosophies and methods became synonymous with success within the direct selling, multi-level marketing industry. A public celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at Elevation Church - Ballantyne, 11701 Elevation Point Drive, Charlotte, NC 28277. You were a practical example of what it means to be a Christian businessman. Though I never met you in person, your books and speeches are still impacting me today and several millions. Thank you for loving people so deeply and proving it in several ways. We will keep your legacy alive. See you in heaven Dexter.

The Christopher, Yager and Kinsler family will always be a part of who I am and where I am today. The life skills I have learned, love of Jesus, how to be and how to treat others has guided my path to success. I learned to thank God for who I am and not to let anyone steal my dream. Thank you Dexter for your love, leadership and teaching me to help others focus on their dreams to be successful.
May God bless the Yager family...
Love, Cyndy Christopher

To Birdie and the entire family. Dexter was a true inspiration and I still listen to him today. His wisdom was un matched. I have not been active in Amway for years, but he has been key to my new found successes. He would not remember me, but I remember him. I met him through Dwight and Margaret Smith. RIP

I awaken 3:30 am 1 hour ago . I haven’t thought about Dexter in quite a few years when i awaken I immediately grabbed my cell and google searched Dexter and discovered he passed away 3 days ago. My success in business and life is directly because of Dexter. I haven’t been involved in Amway in 15 years but I repeat and live on his words everyday like don’t let anyone steal your dream, the facts don’t count if the dream is big enough, I’m the only one who can make me angry, write my dreams and goals down and believe so Thank You My Friend R.I.P. you live on in so many people.
