DiAnn (Knowles) Wiggins

A proud Charlotte native, she was the only child of Jack Wallace Knowles and Daphne Price Knowles. She graduated from Harding High School and Alverson-Draughon Business College. Prior to becoming a mother, DiAnn was employed for many years by the Celanese Corporation.

Deeply spiritual, DiAnn was a longtime member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church and Sharon Baptist Church. She was also a volunteer for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and The Humane Society.

DiAnn married the love of her life, Roger, on October 22, 1978, and had recently celebrated her 45th wedding anniversary. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Meredith, and spent many an hour driving Meredith and her friends to theater rehearsals, choir performances, and of course, the mall.

A lover of nature and animals, her bird feeders were always full and there was never the absence of a four-legged family member. She was a voracious reader of novels and recipes alike, and a passionate lover of music. Her laughter, warm heart, and generosity will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her husband, Roger C. Wiggins, daughter, Meredith Ruth Wiggins, one uncle, Keith Price, and loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Dr. Robbie Page will officiate an 11:00 a.m. service at Sharon Baptist Church located at 6411 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. Immediately following, DiAnn will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn West Cemetery following a private gathering of family and friends.
